Welcoming Ansø of Denmark

Every now and then, something truly special comes along. One of those moments that makes you take stock of where you are and realise just how far you've come. For us at ArcticKnife, this is one of those moments.

I’m incredibly proud to share that we are now an official stockist of Ansø of Denmark.

Jens Ansø has long been my favourite knife designer. In fact, the very first serious Spyderco I ever bought was the Ansø-designed Rock Lobster, a knife I treasure to this day. Since then, I’ve collected many of his factory collaborations over the years, and I’m even lucky enough to own one of his custom Casinos, which is one of the real jewels in my collection.

At ArcticKnife, we’ve always had a simple guiding principle: we only stock what we’re passionate about. Which is why bringing in Ansø’s Shop-Built range is such a special moment. It’s the realisation of a long-held dream and something that feels genuinely personal.

These are knives I’ve admired and used for years and now, I get to share them with you.

This is a brand that sits right at the pinnacle of the knife world. Revered not only for its impeccable craftsmanship, but also for a design language that is uniquely elegant, functional, and deeply considered. If you know, you know. And if you don’t yet, I can’t wait for you to discover it.

Jens Ansø: A Master of Design

Based in Denmark, Jens Ansø has been quietly crafting some of the most sought-after knives in the world for over two decades. His philosophy is rooted in the principle that something should only be made if it is both necessary and useful but if it is both, then it should also be beautiful.

Ansø knives embody that ideal.

His latest venture, Shop-Built, brings his designs fully in-house. These knives are made by Jens and his team, in Denmark, with an obsessive attention to detail that verges on the custom. It means more people can experience his work, but nothing is compromised.

For us, to be able to bring this level of craftsmanship and design to the ArcticKnife community is nothing short of an honour.

Presenting the TOKO

It is quite simply extraordinary.

Unlike anything that you've ever handled before this full sized folder disappears in the pocket thanks to beautifully milled weight-saving pockets inside the titanium frame. These cuts, which Jens calls the Mud-Track pattern, are inspired by all-terrain tyres and are every bit as functional as they are sculptural.

The blade is a new signature shape for Jens, with a CNC-machined hollow grind that delivers exceptional cutting performance without any bulk. The action is something else entirely, deploying using a discreet and sleek flipper tab and a set-trigger detent, the sparkling mirror-stonewashed blade glides into lockup on Skiff Bearings. The perfectly positioned button-lock, once pressed, will allow the blade to fall closed in one gloriously smooth motion. Opening and closing is a tactile experience in itself, the TOKO is genuinely hard to put down.

And then there are the details because everything Jens does is thoughtful. The subtly contoured scales with their fine diamond texture. The tool pathways throughout the milled sections of the knife. The integrated lanyard hole. The clean and crisp colourways are utterly gorgeous.

It’s the kind of object that, like a beautiful watch, reveals something new every time you look at it.

More Than Just a Knife

The TOKO isn’t just a tool. It’s a statement. It says you care about design, about performance, about owning things that are made with purpose and intention.

And it marks an important milestone for ArcticKnife too. We’ve always believed in quality and craftsmanship, but this signals a move into something more, a space where beautiful design and utility meet, where they're inseparable.

We’ll be bringing more from Ansø of Denmark soon, and I genuinely believe this is just the beginning of something very exciting.

Explore the TOKO

The Ansø TOKO is available now, in very limited quantities. These won’t hang around, Jens’s production is small by design, and the demand is global.

If you’re someone who appreciates the finer things, the well-made things, the things you’ll hand down one day, this one’s for you.

Thank you, as always, for being part of the journey.
