Preparedness Without Compromise
The Spyderco Assist is a purpose-built folding knife designed for emergency situations and demanding real-world environments. Compact yet highly capable, it has long been trusted by rescue professionals and preparedness-minded users who value dependable tools. Its blunt-tipped blade profile is shaped to slide safely beneath materials without piercing, while the predominantly serrated edge is optimised for fast, efficient cutting when it matters most. The injection-moulded FRN handle incorporates deep finger grooves and Spyderco’s Bi-Directional Texture pattern for a secure grip, even in wet or gloved conditions. A built-in survival whistle and reversible wire pocket clip add further practicality, making the Assist a highly adaptable carry option.
This example has been 'scale-swapped' by the previous owner, receiving genuine Spyderco orange FRN scales in the place of black. It is in pristine and unused condition, complete with original box (for a C79PSBBK).
"Don't miss out on this unique, stand-out piece. The Assist is a knife that you want on-hand in an emergency." - Mr. Narwhal
Built for Emergencies
Technically, the hollow-ground blade is crafted from VG-10 stainless steel and features an oversized Trademark Round Hole alongside Spyderco’s Cobra Hood attachment, ensuring positive one-handed deployment under stress or while wearing heavy gloves. The ergonomic handle design allows controlled “scissor-style” cutting of rope and cord by leveraging the finger grooves against the closed blade. A retractable carbide glass breaker is integrated into the butt of the handle, extending when the closed knife is squeezed to provide a safe and efficient method of breaking glass. Every element of the Assist reflects deliberate engineering focused on safety, accessibility and performance in critical moments.
