Originally designed by Eric Glesser and first released in 2003, the Spyderco Dodo remains one of the brand’s most unconventional and forward-thinking creations. Compact in blade length yet generous in handle proportions, it pairs a distinctive Reverse “S” profile with unexpectedly refined ergonomics and Spyderco’s high-strength Ball Bearing Lock mechanism. This particular version was offered exclusively through Blade HQ, adding further appeal for collectors. Rare Geometry, Refined Execution
The defining feature of this edition is its blade steel: CPM M4, a high-speed tool steel produced using Crucible’s particle metallurgy process. Renowned for its exceptional wear resistance, toughness and edge retention, CPM M4 has long been favoured in specialist and high-performance cutting applications. Its fine grain structure and elevated vanadium content contribute to impressive durability and cutting longevity. Complementing the blade are Blade HQ’s signature natural G-10 scales, whose near-translucent finish subtly reveals the precision beneath while maintaining a secure peel-ply texture in hand. A reversible wire clip allows discreet, left or right-side tip-up carry, completing a knife that is as technically compelling as it is visually distinctive.
