The standout feature here is the CPM REX 76 blade steel — a high-speed tool steel developed by Crucible using powder metallurgy specifically to achieve exceptionally high hardness levels. Engineered to reach up to 69–70 HRC, REX 76 incorporates increased vanadium, tungsten and carbon content to deliver outstanding wear resistance and remarkable edge retention. Compared with earlier high-hardness tool steels, its optimised alloy composition and fine grain structure allow it to maintain cutting performance under demanding conditions.
