An Amalgamation

Engineered from the ground up as a highly functional and adaptable tool, the Spyderco Amalgam brings together the best features of Spyderco’s renowned Compression Lock system, a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole, and a flipper opener, all in one seamless design.

Flipping Excellent

Conceived by Brian Lai, a Mechanical Engineering student and passionate knife enthusiast, the Amalgam boasts a robust, drop-point blade forged from premium American-made CPM® S30V® stainless steel. The PlainEdge™ blade is expertly full-flat ground to deliver outstanding edge geometry and is finished with a sleek satin polish. The knife operates smoothly, thanks to low-friction ball-bearing washers, ensuring a fluid, rapid, one-handed opening with either the index-finger flipper or the iconic Round Hole. When deployed, the flipper also functions as an efficient lower guard for added safety.

The Amalgam’s handle features precision-machined, skeletonised stainless steel liners housed within textured carbon fibre/G-10 laminate scales. This ergonomic design ensures a slim profile that fits comfortably in the pocket, while the open-backed construction reduces weight and enhances the overall balance of the knife. A versatile four-position pocket clip and a lined lanyard hole accommodate all preferred carry styles, ensuring that the Amalgam can be quickly and easily deployed, whether used in the left or right hand.
