Emergency-Ready, High-Performance

The Spyderco Assist Black Blade is designed for one principal purpose: to assist in emergency situations. This lightweight folding knife is the ideal tool for fire and rescue professionals, as well as well-prepared individuals who require a straightforward, high-performance knife for critical moments. The blade features a non-reflective black carbon nitride coating and is crafted from high-carbon VG-10 stainless steel with a patented lift-and-pry (blunt-nose) shape, offering excellent durability and functionality. Its 3-3/8" (86mm) cutting edge is primarily serrated, with the final inch at the tip left PlainEdged for precision tasks.

"No glove box should be without an Assist... (not legal advice, I'm a Narwhal)." - Mr Narwhal

The Spyderco Assist is equipped with a Cobra Hood™, a unique metal cap above the one-hand-opening hole that allows for quick, tactile opening, even in challenging conditions. This feature doubles as a textured platform for added leverage during cutting tasks. The blade also incorporates a wavy pattern along the top edge, and the handle features a similar pattern to facilitate controlled rope cutting. By positioning rope in the groove between the partially open blade and handle, users can slice and trim rope with controlled movements, without fully exposing the cutting edge.

The handle is made from lightweight black FRN (fibreglass reinforced nylon) and includes a survival whistle built into the butt end, providing a shrill, high-pitched sound to help you get noticed in an emergency. A reinforced wire pocket clip allows for versatile carry, with options for both left- and right-hand use. Additionally, the knife houses a retractable and replaceable carbide-tip glass/ice breaker inside the handle, which is exposed when the blade is squeezed into the handle and retracts when pressure is released.
