There is some evidence of light-carry, like small dots on the G10 where the pocketclip lands but no real signs of use, the blade is pristine and is still sporting a very sharp factory edge. One of the most talked-about aspects of the Dodo is its uniquely shaped blade. Measuring under two inches, the CPM S30V stainless steel blade offers surprising cutting power thanks to its pronounced curved belly. The downward-pointed tip is designed for precision work and detailed slicing, making it ideal for both everyday carry and specialist use. The blade is laser-cut and hollow-ground, featuring a swedge that runs from the tip halfway along the spine—balancing function with flair.
The ergonomic G-10 handle is a study in control and comfort, sculpted with a series of finger choils that culminate in a distinctive tail. This tail acts as a pinky shelf and doubles as a striking tool, offering multiple grip options and added leverage during use.
For the Dodo, Spyderco developed the innovative Ball Bearing Lock™ a robust mechanism that drops a steel ball bearing into a recess on the blade’s tang, securing it firmly in the open position. Once engaged, the ball is compressed by the open blade, eliminating any blade play. Rated for MBC (Martial Blade Craft) and heavy-duty use on Spyderco’s lock strength scale, the Ball Bearing Lock is ambidextrous, with a pull-back mechanism accessible from both sides.
