Precision Performance
The Spyderco Ikuchi is an ultra-slim, high-performance pocket knife that offers a unique approach to design and functionality. Created by Paul Alexander, a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and passionate knife enthusiast, the Ikuchi (pronounced ee-koo-chee, named after a mythical Japanese sea creature) features a sleek, ergonomically curved handle. This handle is expertly crafted with full, skeletonised stainless steel liners and elegant carbon fibre/G-10 laminate scales for a perfect balance of strength and style.
"The Ikuchi provides a unique deployment experience, it's just like rolling the flint on a lighter!"- Mr. Narwhal
Fun and Fidgety
When closed, the handle’s slim, open-backed profile completely encases the blade, leaving only a small textured portion of the tang visible for easy operation. A simple stroke of the index finger or thumb on this 'coin-edge' activates the flipper mechanism, allowing for smooth and rapid blade deployment. Once open, the blade locks securely into place with Spyderco's patented Compression Lock® system.
The Ikuchi is fitted with a satin-finished CPM® S30V® stainless steel blade, which is full-flat ground to deliver exceptional cutting performance and precise edge geometry. Its acute, scalpel-like tip ensures excellent control for detailed tasks, making it a perfect choice for both everyday carry and more intricate cutting needs.
For ultimate convenience and discretion, the Ikuchi features a low-profile, deep-pocket wire clip that is reversible for both left and right-handed users. This design ensures the knife remains easily accessible, whether carried tip-up on either side.
