The Redback Reimagined
Designed in collaboration with Australian custom knifemaker Alistair Phillips, the Spyderco Kapara is a striking fusion of elegance, everyday utility, and custom-level craftsmanship. Based on Phillips’ popular “Redback” custom folder, the Kapara has quickly earned its place as a cult favourite in the knife community thanks to its refined lines, thoughtful ergonomics, and premium materials. This example has been lightly carried but is in excellent condition, only remarks is a very light scratch next to the bug engraving (pictured), almost perfect. Complete with original box.
"The Kapara is beautiful, ergonomic and supremely practical for all manner of cutting tasks." - Mr. Narwhal
Undeniably Good
At the heart of the Kapara is a full-flat-ground blade crafted from CPM S30V stainless steel. With excellent edge retention and corrosion resistance, this steel delivers reliable cutting performance in a sleek, slicer-style profile that excels at food prep, daily tasks, and detail work.
The handle features beautifully contoured carbon fibre scales over skeletonized stainless steel liners, offering a perfect balance of strength and light weight. The high-strength Compression Lock provides secure, confident blade lockup, while a red G-10 backspacer adds a striking visual accent and a subtle nod to the Kapara’s Redback spider roots.
A deep-carry wire pocket clip allows for discreet tip-up carry on either side, and the open-back construction keeps the design slim, clean, and easy to maintain.
With its blend of custom-inspired design, practical features, and refined aesthetics, the Spyderco Kapara continues to grow in popularity as a cult classic among collectors and knife users alike.
