Crafted from premium CPM® 15V® tool steel, this blade offers the highest wear resistance of any cold-work steel currently available. With nearly 15% vanadium in its alloy composition, CPM 15V produces an exceptionally high volume of vanadium carbides, resulting in outstanding edge retention and long-lasting cutting performance. Each blade undergoes a specialised heat-treatment process developed by acclaimed custom knifemaker Shawn Houston, further enhancing its toughness and performance. Spyderco MicroJimbo
Arguably the most unusual looking and curiously shaped knife in my collection. However, the blade shape is a triump with a wide thumb rest for push cuts, that drops down to a very fine cutting edge that makes it very slicey. I also appreciate the ability to put my finger close to the tip of the blade in a pinch grip for controlable draw cuts. I like the finish of the CPM 15V blade and it comes with a ‘toothy’ and bitingly sharp edge. The colour of the G10 handle seems better in real life than in pictures and is very grippy. It now sits on my desk as my go to box and package opener and am pleased that I bought for this role in this ‘sprint run’ version.
