Magnacut UKPK!
I'm very pleased with this knife. I was very unsure about which knife to purchase and so I scoured the internet and eventually decided this was the best option for me. It doesn't have the retention of Maxamet or Rex 121, but it's significantly tougher, much more suitable for my needs. It's about as tough as the much celebrated Cruwear in fact, which I have in the Paramilitary 2 and that knife is a beast. Though Magnacut has a higher retention, bringing me to my next point. There is a lot to be said for using the right grind angle on the edge. When I put a steeper edge on it and bring it to a shaving sharpness, then it lasts much longer, to the extent I can shave with it after cutting other materials. I'll have to test it on cardboard to see how it holds up. This knife is tough! It's just under 3 inches long and I managed to cut a sappy, low hanging tree branch over an inch thick without any issues. It's true to say the blade really holds up. Obviously, the best part is that I can carry it everywhere and handily overcome any average cutting task as I go about my day.
