The Hinderer Project X is a distinctive expression of Rick Hinderer’s design philosophy: purposeful, highly engineered and built around details that reward closer inspection. This particularly special configuration combines a stonewashed MagnaCut clip-point blade with a full titanium build, including a beautifully engraved horse-head titanium scale that gives the knife an unmistakable Hinderer identity. The entire piece carries Hinderer’s iconic Working Finish, a deliberately tactile, worn-in treatment that complements the stonewashed blade and titanium hardware while giving the knife a cohesive, understated character. Built to Be Maintained

At the heart of the Project X is a MagnaCut clip-point blade, combining excellent corrosion resistance, edge retention and toughness with the distinctive Hinderer working aesthetic. The titanium construction incorporates Hinderer’s Tri-Way pivot system, allowing the pivot to be configured with bearings, phosphor-bronze washers or nylon washers, while the titanium lock side provides the robust mechanical foundation expected from the brand. Particularly clever is the removable rear backspacer, which doubles as a dedicated disassembly tool: rather than requiring a separate proprietary tool to service the knife, the tool is integrated directly into the design and can be removed when needed for disassembly, cleaning and maintenance before being securely returned to its position as the backspacer. It is a wonderfully Hinderer touch, functional engineering that is hidden in plain sight.
