CPM-M4. Blacked Out. Built to Last.

The Benchmade 810BK Contego is a substantial and distinctive design from one of Benchmade’s most memorable periods, combining the unmistakable design language of Warren Osborne with a premium specification built around performance and durability. Developed as a hard-wearing, full-sized folding knife, the Contego features an imposing reverse tanto blade, angular styling and a generously proportioned handle that delivers a confident, ergonomic feel. Its purposeful design and uncompromising proportions have earned it a loyal following among Benchmade enthusiasts, and its discontinuation has only added to its appeal. Increasingly sought after by collectors and admirers of the brand’s earlier designs, the 810BK remains a particularly desirable example of Benchmade engineering and Warren Osborne’s distinctive approach to functional knife design.

This example is in excellent condition, it has been sharpened and has some marks in the coating, pictured. Complete with original box.

"This is possibly the best Benchmade ever built. What a brute?! 4" of M4, reverse tanto blade shape for maximum utility and awesome ergonomics, for serious work, it doesn't get better than this." - Mr. Narwhal

Serious Steel. Unmistakable Character.

The 3.98-inch reverse tanto blade is crafted from CPM-M4 tool steel, a high-performance powder metallurgy steel renowned for its exceptional toughness, wear resistance and edge retention. Finished in black Cerakote, the blade benefits from an additional protective surface coating and a distinctive low-reflectivity appearance. The handle features robust black G-10 scales with textured detailing, supported by a full stainless steel liner construction for strength and rigidity. Benchmade’s AXIS Lock mechanism provides smooth, ambidextrous operation, while the thumb studs allow convenient one-handed opening. Additional features include a reversible deep-carry pocket clip for left- or right-handed, tip-up carry and an integrated carbide glass breaker. Combining premium tool steel, substantial construction and Warren Osborne’s unmistakable design, the discontinued Contego is an increasingly collectable Benchmade with a specification that remains impressive today.
