Where It All Began...

Few Spyderco models carry the historical significance of the C01 Worker. Introduced in 1981 as Spyderco’s very first production knife, the Worker helped establish several features that have since become fundamental to modern folding-knife design, most notably the pocket clip and Spyderco’s now-iconic Trademark Round Hole for convenient one-handed opening. The C01GPGR is a particularly desirable modern interpretation of that pioneering design, released as a limited Sprint Run in 2014 and restricted to just 1,500 pieces. Finished with dark green G-10 and updated with contemporary ergonomics and carry options, it faithfully preserves the unmistakable character of Sal Glesser’s original design while giving collectors an opportunity to own a modern production tribute to the knife that started it all.

This example is in as new condition and is complete with original box and papers.

"It doesn't get anymore special than this, this is a historical knife in the broader sense, not just within Spyderco." - Mr. Narwhal

1981 Heritage. Modern Performance.

The C01GPGR pairs its classic hollow-ground blade profile with premium VG-10 stainless steel, offering a well-rounded combination of edge retention, corrosion resistance, toughness and straightforward sharpening. Its dark green G-10 scales provide a secure, textured grip and give this Sprint Run a distinctive appearance, while the stainless steel liners and back lock lend the compact folder a reassuringly solid feel. Unlike the original Worker’s single-position clip, the Sprint Run features a modern four-position clip, allowing right or left-side, tip-up or tip-down carry, while retaining the fully accessible Round Hole that made the original so revolutionary. Produced in Japan and limited to 1,500 examples, the C01GPGR is more than a modernised classic—it is a tangible piece of Spyderco history and one of the most compelling versions of the company's foundational design for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
